What are SMART Goals?

SMART criteria is an approach used to guide the goal-setting process. It stands for Specific, Measureable, Attainable, Relevant, and Timely. Use SMART criteria in goal-setting and increase your chances of achieving goals quickly and smartly.

How to Work on SMART Goals with Creately?

  • Start by listing your goals on a plain canvas.
  • Take time to go through them and understand why they are important and worth your time. Accordingly, prioritize your goals.
  • Is your goal Specific? Make sure that it states exactly what you want to achieve, when, why and how you want to achieve it. Also, write down if there are any restraints, and if you need help from anyone else.
  • Is your goal measurable? Identify the criteria for measuring progress. Add measurable elements to your goal such as the amount of money. “I want to lose 2 pounds in the first week of July” is easier to measure than “I want to lose weight”.
  • Is your goal Attainable? Do you have the money, resources, time, experience, etc. to achieve this goal? Make sure your goal is challenging, yet achievable.
  • Is your goal Relevant? Understand whether this goal will align with your other goals and if it’s worth your time.
  • Is your goal Timely? Set a reasonable deadline to complete your goal so it keeps you focused.
  • Ready to plan your SMART goals? You can use an instantly editable Creately SMART goal worksheet to get a headstart with the exercise or start from scratch.
  • Share your Creately files as necessary with others by sharing them. Download them as SVGs, PNGs, JPEGs, or PDFs to embed them in documents, presentations, etc.
